The article provides subtle advice to persons who write merely to write and persons who are forced to write to get their names in print. Professors are a naive group when it comes to knowing how to get their work published. They have pursued their own interests in selecting a topic on which to write. Often the professor would discover to his dismay that there was no publishing market for his work of erudition. They made the fatal mistake of attempting to write on what they were interested in instead of ascertaining the kind of material the particular periodical wishes to print.
