Motor;Dec2005, p53
The article compares the motors of the cars WRX STi , Lancer Evolution, and HSV ClubSport. The power curve is linear and steep, and the turbo spikes to 1.1bar boost and quickly settles to hold a very smooth boost curve of 14psi all the way to redline. Its peak at 157kW tapers off only in the last 500rpm. With 91 more kilowatts and 6.0-litres, the HSV blows away the turbo fours in power. Even with the tableland of torque and the big peak power, from the mid-range up it's actually running a little rich.
