Alcoa Sees Third-Quarter Income Decline

The article reports on the financial performance of Alcoa Inc. during the third quarter of fiscal 2005 in the U.S. Lower aluminum prices and higher input costs contributed to a drop in income from continuing operations for the company. Though the net income of 289 million was up from the 283 million in the third quarter of 2004, it was down 37 percent from the 466 million in the second quarter.
