ABSTRACT
This article reports that NewsBank Inc. has announced "NewsBank Newsfile Collection," a comprehensive full-text resource that supplies more than 70,000 articles annually from over 500 regional, national, and international newspapers and news sources. Regional news articles make up a large part of the value of the NewsBank NewsFile Collection. These articles reflect reporting from sources closest to an issue or event and give students and researchers a more detailed perspective on issues, events, and well-known figures in the news. NewsBank NewsFile Collection contains articles covering film, television, fine arts, architecture, and performing arts, similar to that found in NewsBank's "Review of the Arts" microfiche collection. It also includes articles covering people and professions in the news, such as politicians, rock stars, sports figures, and business executives. In related news, NewsBank has begun shipping its new product "Popular Periodicals Standard," a 60-title full-text periodical collection for schools and libraries.
