The article focuses on the use of computerized ink-jet printing in the field of direct-response marketing. The mailing lists on the magnetic tapes are merged and purified to eliminate duplication. The names, addresses, individual sweepstakes numbers, and other personalized data on each promotional letter are sprayed by computerized ink-jets. The technology is unique and the results are amazing. The letters and characters are formed by striking of the ink on the magnetic computer tape. Offers are given to prospective customers by name and address that are specifically designed to communicate with them. Computerized ink-jets have unlocked the door to the future of direct marketing.
