ABSTRACT
This article looks at an emergency shelter designed by two young British engineers that can be erected in less than an hour. The shelter is made of a cement-impregnated fabric that can be erected by a single untrained person in 40 minutes. The structure consists of a cement-filled sack to which water is added prior to inflation. Inventors, Peter Brewin and William Crawford foresee military and emergency use.
