ABSTRACT
The article reports on the decision of businessman Amos Hostetter to join in the deal for the privatization of Insight Communications Inc. Insight Communications announced that on December 16, 2005, shareholders will meet and vote on the proposal of Sidney Knafel, chairman of Insight, Insight CEO Michael Willner and The Carlyle Group to buy 86% of Insight stock. PH Investments LLC, the company controlled by Hostetter, will contribute $40 million to the buyout.
