ABSTRACT
The article discusses the breakthrough in 3D computational fluid dynamics visualization which will allow engineers to see in real-time complex graphical displays, such as airflow around cities and shock waves forming on aircraft in England. Cambridge Flow Solutions, a spin-out from Cambridge University's CFD Laboratory, is working on how to manipulate quantity of data so that users can extract the relevant information; and how to display it meaningfully and has linked up with 3D specialist Virtalis to make the link to 3D visualization.
