ABSTRACT
The article explains that a composite brace that could allow sports players to continue competing despite injuries including broken or fractured bones is designed by researchers at Virginia Tech University in the US. The brace is already been used on an American football player who fractured his ulna. The uniaxial polypropylene and carbon fibre composite sheeting allows the brace to maintain protection and prevent the injury from moving to higher stresses because it is stiffer.
