The article reports that boosted entirely by the sale of accounts receivable, third quarter 2005 profits at Federated Department Stores Inc. rose more than five-fold, by 489.2% to $436 million from $74 million during the same period in 2004. Propping the bottom line, Federated bought in $480 million from the earlier sale of accounts receivables.
