This article features the basketball games initiated by the organization Playing for Peace for children in South Africa and Northern Ireland in 2005. More than 7,000 South African kids of all races regularly come together to play basketball. Kids from black neighborhoods play with kids from white neighborhoods, and players get to know each other at tournaments and festivals. In Northern Ireland, more than 12,000 Protestant and Catholic kids play together and get to know each other in Playing for Peace basketball leagues.
