ABSTRACT
The article presents information on 40 white-hot vinos from Italy and Spain. Italian and Spanish white wines have been steadily working their way into the heart of the Australians. Spring and summer are the perfect seasons in which to try these exotic whites. Many have a savoury edge and are ideal accompaniments to the light, bright, fresh dishes that we serve at this time of year. However, having interest in the Latin white wines, it is important to add some qualifiers. First, Italian and Spanish red wines--with varieties such as sangiovese, barbera, dolcetto and tempranillo--are much easier to sell. As are French white wines, which are more familiar and often easier to pronounce and remember.
