ABSTRACT
This article reports on the selection of Internet service provider EarthLink to BBDO West as its advertising agency in May 1999. The agency will handle EarthLink's branding efforts toward a national consumer marketing campaign estimated at $50 million. EarthLink wants its advertising campaign to nationally extend the strong brand recognition the company has developed in the Los Angeles, California area. The company began this endeavor by hiring Select Resources International to handle reviews for clients such as Hewlett-Packard Co. and Starbucks Coffee Co.
