ABSTRACT
In this paper the authors discuss the research journey they undertook to work cross-culturally and collaboratively. The story is told through a description of the research process, discussions of the relevant literature, re-created conversations and researcher reflections. This method of re-telling allows the juxtaposition of the academic and the personal in a way that problematises the notion of research as a logical, linear progression. From their experiences and the research literature the authors synthesise a model and a set of supporting questions which offer one way of conducting research in cross-cultural settings.
