The article profiles Mary Stierna who was chosen as the Region III Teacher of the Year at the Region III Conference held in Perrysburg, Ohio. She teaches Adult Basic Education Reading at the Wisconsin Resource Center. She also teaches the ProLiteracy America (PLA) Tutor Training classes. Steirna has been a Council of Economic Advisers (CEA) member for 5 years. She also facilitates the Cognitive Interventions and Managing Anger Programs. She is currently a member of the CEA-Wisconsin Writing Project Committee and also one of the founding members of the PLA-Wisonsin Institutions.
