ABSTRACT
This article focuses on the difficulties experienced by researchers in using the Lexis/Nexis database. It is difficult to say what researchers fear most when searching Nexis: the possibility of finding too much, not finding the requested article or story, or in the process of searching, incurring tremendous charge. In a database as diverse in documents as Nexis, it may be necessary to reformulate searches for specific files in order to perform the most accurate and efficient searches. The most common type of error in searching Nexis is poor strategy. A responsible searcher should recognize immediately when a request would be inappropriate for Nexis.
