ABSTRACT
The article informs that four most critical instructional problems for teachers, according to a new poll conducted by the National Education Association are: the wide range of student achievement, the indifference of many students to school, the weight of noninstructional duties, and the number of students per teacher. These four problem areas were selected by more than a quarter of all teachers polled from a list of the 20 teaching problems usually cited as most significant.
