ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the research of the Research Division of the New Zealand Ministry of Education that presents the responses of Resource Teachers of Literacy to their 2003 annual return. It illustrates the changes that have occurred since Resource Teachers: Literacy (RT:Lits) replaced Resource Teachers of Reading in 2001. At the beginning of 2001, the position of Resource Teachers of Reading was replaced by that of RT:Lits. Thirty-seven per cent of students enrolled were deemed to have made significant gains from the programme and were discharged.
