ABSTRACT
This article reports that tourism chiefs in Greece are trying to persuade GB Airways to launch direct flights to Rhodes following the success of the airline's new summer service between London and Crete. Greek National Tourism Organisation director Panos Argyros said he has also been in talks with GB Airways about the possibility of it continuing its Crete service throughout the winter from next year. GB Airways refused to comment on its future plans, but has already announced it will double the frequency of its Gatwick-Heraklion service from two to four flights a week next spring, with flights starting in March instead of May 2006.
