ABSTRACT
This article reports on the appointment of Jonathan Kingsbury as the first head of internal supply at BBC New Media in Great Britain. The move is designed to shore up relations with third-party providers as it pursues the 25% independent production quota set by the Graf Report. Kingsbury will be responsible for championing the cause of third-party suppliers as part of ongoing efforts by the BBC to outsource more than £12m of its online business each year by the time its Royal Charter runs out in 2006. One of Kingsbury's most pressing tasks will be to oversee the implementation of the approved supplier's list, which will be the company's prime resource for new media commissioning in the future.
