ABSTRACT
Reports that criminal lawyers in Great Britain began a national walk-out on October 3, 2005, over the government's refusal to raise legal aid fees. Plan by lawyers across the country to refuse new instructions for those cases affected by the cuts; Inability of the Bar Council to officially condone the strike; Failure of months-long negotiations between the Department for Constitutional Affairs and the Bar Council.
