This article focuses on the Call for Papers competition that will be sponsored by the Journal of Financial Planning at the Financial Planning Association's (FPA) Retreat in Houston, Texas from April 25 to 28, 2001. The competition will be opened to all FPA members and members of the academic community. Entries will consist of a written manuscript and corresponding PowerPoint presentation. The entries must fall into one of three categories: (1) planning techniques and methods; (2) practice essentials; and (3) future of the profession. The winning entries will be presented at the retreat. They will also be published in subsequent 2002 issues of the journal.
