This article presents results of a study on migration behaviors of U.S. citizens from Harris Interactive. Moving seems to be one of the favorite pastimes in the U.S., with one in every four U.S. adults having moved since 2002. And while 60% of new movers in the study said the experience was stressful, 91% said that using the Internet for local searches was helpful in reducing their stress. The top stress-reducing feature of local searches was comprehensiveness, cited by 58% of the 2,604 respondents. Speed and convenience was chosen second by 51% of the respondents, followed by accuracy, and dependability. Of the activities, 79% of new movers said they searched for local maps and directions within a month of moving. Entertainment was the secondary local search activity for new movers.
