This article discusses trends in management styles. Business process improvement techniques are constantly changing. The important thing is how managers recognize and accept that some management styles have reached a certain stage in their development. Quality assurance is a good example of this. Managers need to keep control of improvement processes and there is also a need for good reporting mechanisms, but many quality techniques and skills have become embedded as good management practice and do not need any further special treatment.
