ABSTRACT
The article evaluates the performance of advertising agency Merkley Newman Harty as of January 2000. In 1999, the company won $100 million in billings when DaimlerChrysler decided to move Mercedes-Benz from Lowe & Partners/SMS, New York, to an Omnicom Group shop. It also scored the U.S. portion of Fila's $80 million global account in a victory shared with Omnicom sibling TBWA Worldwide. The company won additional billings from Bellsouth Corp. and Forbes, for its Forbes.com Web site, and shared with McCann-Erickson Worldwide, an assignment to create a branding campaign for Citigroup. In August 1999, it merged its Atlanta office with Bayless & Partners.
