ABSTRACT
The article states that from air bases in Iraq and the surrounding Arabian Gulf region, the U.S. airmen worked to help liberate the country and bring about a swift and successful end to Operation Iraqi Freedom. With Air Force-wide support, they were proud to help provide the freedoms many Iraqis had never known under the oppression of Iraqi President Saddam Hussein's rule. Airmen looked out for each other while deployed and found ways to display their pride. Family members back home also found ways to display their support. Some even found little ways to help cope with life and bring back old traditions.
