This article describes an advertisement to be launched by Zippo Manufacturing in January 1999. Zippo calls up the reputation of its lighters in World War II to market new wristwatches to young people. The advertisement, breaking in January 2000, notes the Zippo watch is built to survive harsh environments, enemy attacks and all-out war. Egan/Saint James in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania created the print and outdoor campaign.
