ABSTRACT
This article reports on the survey conducted by the William Olsten Center for Workforce Strategies concerning job listings in print classified advertisements in the U.S., as of April 1999. The survey found that 43% of all new hires will be recruited by traditional classified advertising, while just 5% are expected to be generated via the Internet or job recruitment Web sites. Of the 322 companies that completed the survey, 38% will accept resume and job applications online, up from 17% two years ago.
