The article reports that David Javerbaum, a writer sporting four Emmy Awards for his contributions to the television program "The Daily Show With Jon Stewart" on top of his work as a lyricist, is one of three winners of the 15th annual Kleban Awards, which honor excellence in musical theatre writing. In a typical year, a librettist is also chosen for the award, but this year's adjudication resulted in a rare two-way tie, between Cheryl L. Davis and Ken Stone. Stone, who is both a book writer and lyricist, has enjoyed a 20-year collaboration with composer Jan Powell. Their work, which includes "Overland," "Trask & Fenn," and "King of the Cowboys," has received support over the years from Theatre Building Chicago in the Windy City and the Academy for New Musical Theatre in Los Angeles.
