This article discusses a study conducted by BuzzBack Market Research and Pantone Inc. in 2005 on colors preferred by customers in the U.S. in purchasing products. The blue hue is the top color in the U.S., according to 27% of respondents in the study. Color also was considered important when respondents made buying decisions, with 86% saying it affected clothing purchases, 76% citing it as having an effect on car/motorcycle purchases and 72% citing it for large kitchen appliances. The study also found that females prefer softer colors while males prefer bolder and darker colors. While white was the most trusted color for household products, Little Boy Blue was the next choice for laundry detergents, dishwasher detergents, fabric softeners, liquid hand soaps and dishwashing liquid soaps.
