ABSTRACT
The article reports that the Brazilian Senate's Commission of Constitution and Justice has approved a bill banning all advertising and sponsorship for tobacco and alcohol. The estimated annual spending on tobacco and alcohol marketing is $500 million. According to International Advertising Association world president David Hanger, the bill would bring similar efforts to introduce censorship in other Latin American countries.
