This article presents Internet data aggregator eMarketer's estimate that Internet advertising spending in the U.S. more than doubled in 1999, representing a growth rate of 116 percent. Online ads is expected to increase its share of the total advertising market. Online ad spending is forecast to reach $21 billion by 2004.
