The article presents information about the problems faced by fuel supplier Jaco Oil and how it solved it by adopting new technology. The company needed to know how much fuel was sold at each store each day so the company could get paid. It also needed to get bill-of-lading information from the drivers when deliveries where made, and finally it had to automate dispatching. The company eventually chose Intellifuel Systems Inc. to provide one-way communication between the stores and the headquarters via a dial-up connection using a computer or Data Bug hooked up in the store.
