ABSTRACT
This article deals with a People's Pop survey which determines the baseball players/celebrities that can influence the U.S. fans to attend an event featuring them. Does the 1999 season of baseball in the U.S. appeal to the fans? Home-run record breakers Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa are easily the players baseball fans most want to see. But the survey claimed that there were other stars who are still popular. Ken Griffey Jr. and Cal Ripken Jr. both posted healthy score when asked if they would attend a game featuring them. And fans liked the idea of Michael Jordan playing again. More so, it seems that the fans liked film portrayals of baseball because Tom Hanks nearly earned a 100% positive response and so does Robert Redford.
