ABSTRACT
This article reports on a strategic alliance agreement reached by MetiLinx Inc. with ParTec Cluster Competence Center GmbH in August 2005 to enable organizations to take full advantage of their grid and cluster computing environments. The organizations will form strategies addressing this marketplace, including joint technology development and marketing of certain technologies. The ParaStation technology for cluster environments and the Infrastructure Suite from MetiLinx will address all the needs of system and network administration and optimization. The MetiLinx Infrastructure Suite enables systems to dynamically identify areas in the technology stack that are available to take on additional workload, then intelligently route transactions based on this information, thereby enhancing performance and providing a higher return on investment. ParaStation is a comprehensive middleware solution for computing clusters. In a single software package, users get the necessary functionality to efficiently manage and operate a Linux-based compute cluster. ParaStation significantly increases the stability and reliability of the cluster and, therefore, enhances productivity. The user-friendly system greatly simplifies administration.
