ABSTRACT
The article presents some news briefs related to the steel industries. It reports that Steel Technologies Inc. has ordered a close-tolerance multi-blanking line. The company's third-quarter results will be affected by lower than anticipated shipments and further margin compression--the latter due to continued price declines. Heidtman Steel Products Inc. has commissioned a new heavy-gauge slitter at its Cleveland processing facility. The plant outputs a comprehensive product mix including hot-rolled, cold-rolled and coated steels.
