ABSTRACT
Reports on the initiatives taken by the Center for Campus Fire Safety to seek solutions to college student deaths in fires and lobbying Congress to support legislation to address the problem in the U.S. Calls for legislators in both houses to support bills that would declare September as a Campus Fire Safety Month; Occurrence of fatal fires in student housing; Introduction of the College Fire Prevention Act, H.R. 128 that would provide matching funds to colleges for installing sprinkler systems and other fire protection technology.
