ABSTRACT
The article presents the author's experience when he traveled to Southern California. He stopped for lunch at his favorite spot, Laguna Thai, and then drove on to Del Mar, where he met with the chief executive officer of TEC International, Rafael Pastor. He witnessed leadership development in action, as TEC was in process of training the regional chairs of its 10,000 members, who are dedicated to increasing the effectiveness of their leadership and growing their companies. He next stopped at the Ritz Carlton in Marina Del Rey, where the USC Marshall School of Business and its Center for Effective Organizations sponsored a seminar, "Leveraging Leadership Development for Strategic Impact."
