This article presents a basic introduction to the fuzzy logic modeling in social sciences through a pedagogic example. The application deals with building a fuzzy model and related fuzzy rules for rating graduate students according to their grades and LES examinations. The fuzzy membership functions and fuzzy rules in the application are formed in the Fuzzy Logic Toolbox of the MATLAB® programming package. The results are presented in both numerically and graphically in the article.
