The intent of UD is to simplify life for everyone by making products, communications, and the built environment more usable by as many people as possible at little or no extra cost. UD benefits people of all ages and abilities. UD creates homes that are safer, ergonomic, and more convenient for all people. Soap and water create the risk of slip-fall injuries for all people. Grab bars in a tub or shower enhance safety for everyone. Fall injuries are a leading cause of injury deaths in the home.
