The article presents information on the status of financial market and the percentage of leveraged loans for the year 2005. Despite a few hiccups that rattled the market in the second quarter, first-half issuance in U.S. leveraged loans clocked in at about $275 billion. Market players are optimistic that, earlier blips aside, the robust first half will stay that way for the remainder of the year. Despite all the optimism, a June 28 Bear Stearns report throws a little cold water on the situation, suggesting that the leveraged loan market has reached an inflection point and that the tide could be turning for investors after a two-year run of issuer friendly conditions.
