ABSTRACT
This article discusses the employment changes at Fifth Third Bancorp's Northeast Ohio operations. Todd Clossin has been president of Fifth Third Bancorp's Northeast Ohio operations for less than six months, and already his supporting cast in the executive suite has changed. Among the new hires is Rick Lehrter, former president of UMB Bank in Tulsa, a unit of Kansas City-based UMB Financial Corp. Losing ground is not something Fifth Third is familiar with, said Gary Townsend, senior analyst at Virginia investment bank Friedman Billings Ramsey Group Inc. The bank is more accustomed to taking market share and must have decided that bringing in new blood would help the institution increase profits, he said.
