ABSTRACT
The article presents a quiz related to small bowel obstruction in a young woman. A 23 year old female international student, presented with an eight week history of nausea, biliary vomiting, constipation and abdominal pain with hyperactive bowel sounds. Plain abdominal x-rays revealed several prominent loops of proximal small bowel but no other changes. The gastrografin swallow was normal but computerized tomography showed an area of thickening in the wall of the proximal jejunum. Quiz questions are about abnormalities, diagnosis and pathogenic mechanisms of this condition.
