The article presents information on the business acquisitions and financial ventures of J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. As Morgan Stanley hobbles along with disappointing performance and a lame-duck chief executive, public debate on the cure has focused mainly on finding a replacement for departing chief Phil Purcell. J.P. Morgan, which would reunite the House of Morgan, will remedy the ailing firm, according to Richard Bove, analyst with Punk Ziegel & Co., who reports that some of his clients are promoting this idea. GE Financial Services Inc.s' name has also surfaced as a possible deep-pocketed buyer for Morgan Stanley. J.P. Morgan's agreement last week to buy Neovest Holdings Inc., a provider of trading technology and direct market access which might preclude a large acquisition such as Morgan Stanley.
