Discusses the versatility of in situ organic polymer monolith approach in terms of flexible adjustment of the surface chemistry. Promotion of the use of tailor-made enantioselective monolithic columns that provide the solutions to specific separation problems; Development of generic post-functionalization concepts to escape from tedious repeated pore structure optimization; Advantages of the organic polymer monolith technology for miniaturized analytical systems as well as their hyphenation with mass spectrometric detection.
