ABSTRACT
The article presents news related to advertising in the U.S. Domestic advertising spending rose 2.4 percent to $20.3 billion in the first quarter of 2005 compared to the same year-ago period, according to Nielsen Media Research. Old Navy Clothing Co. reported that StrawberryFrog would create its fall television and print campaign, with IPG's Deutsch/LA relegated to teenager and interactive efforts. Hewlett-Packard Co. (HP) named Cathy Lyons as its executive vice president (EVP) and chief marketing officer. Lyons is a 26-year HP veteran. She takes some duties from Mike Winkler, who will now focus on his role as the EVP of the customer solutions group.
