The article reports on the financial performance of law form Linklaters. Linklaters has ousted its rival Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer from second place in "The Lawyer UK 100." A revision of Linklaters' financial figures reveals that its profit has increased by a staggering 25 per cent and turnover is up by 12 per cent to 805 million pound, while Freshfields' turnover has dropped to 785 million pound. The updated figure has increases the firm's average profit per equity partner (PEP) by a further 27,000 pound from its original estimate of 818,000 pound, which was announced in May 2005. However, the PEP figure is understood to be prior to exceptional charges.
