RF IC design flow can be a complicated endeavor

This article provides information about radio frequency integrated circuit (RFIC) design flow. The design flow of an RFIC needs to be based on an overarching methodology that deals with each design domain and subsequent integrations to serve as a blueprint to which any platform targeting custom design can be measured. The essence of the RFIC flow is the ability to manage, replicate, and control post-layout simulations and effects and effective use this information at timely points throughout the design process. The advanced custom design methodology, geared toward mixed signal, takes design tasks and parallelizes them. In addition, the top-down approach taken in the RF IC design process starts with HDL modeling for the entire RF IC, including all RF blocks and any analog content and/or digital blocks.
