ABSTRACT
The article presents news briefs relating to different law firms. Herbert Smith has announced record profits for the last financial year, with average profit per equity partner up to 800,000 pounds, a rise of 14 per cent. Baker & McKenzie has confirmed that its London practice will become a new English limited-liability partnership. Richards Butler has announced the appointment of six new partners, five in the Hong Kong office and one in London. The new partners' specialist areas cover corporate, litigation and banking and finance.
