ABSTRACT
The article presents some pieces of news related to retail trade in the textile industry. Designer Thomas O'Brien's 500-sku collection for retail firm Target Stores Inc. will debut in October, the retailer reported last week. As previously announced, the exclusive brand--Vintage Modern--will encompass bedding, bath, furniture, decorative accessories, lighting, dinnerware and stationery. Retail firm Saks Inc. has cleared the hurdle presented by the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1975, and is now scheduled to complete its sale of retail firms Proffitt Inc.'s and McRae's Departmental Stores to retail firm Belk Inc. on July 5.
